Life is a crucible in which we learn the lessons, take the setbacks, experience the shocks to the system that shape us, make us who we are, give us the insights to understand the unexplainable and the resilience to bounce back when the curve balls knock us down.

Wow, just a few blinks of an eye ago, MySpace was the coolest toy on the planet. If you weren’t on it, you weren’t with it.

Today, Facebook holds that status, followed closely by Twitter. It has risen to the stuff of legend, major motion pictures, larger than life icons. Nearly as important and indispensable to the human race as oxygen.

But as we take in all of the glory of the sex symbol of the day as if it is here for life. When it is really gone tomorrow.

On Friday night, I talked to Bill Clinton, for an hour, about everything from being a Rhodes scholar, to serving as President, to the role of Dick Morris to…..most important and intriguing, his thoughts on the current President living in the White House.

I told Bill that although I did not vote for him, I respected him, but that I could not say the same about Obama. In fact, that I believe Obama does not love America.

When I was starting my business career, someone passed along a bit of street wisdom:

“Sell to people who drive Rolls Royces and you ride the subway. Sell to people who ride the subway and you drive Rolls Royces.”
