On July 1, my dear golden retriever Blue died in my arms after 12 1/2 years of devoted love and friendship. He was thrilled to walk with me in blizzards. He adored beating me to the end of the pool on broiling July days. He was a huge polar bear of a dog, a sweet but courageous giant, an irreplaceable gem and when he lied lifeless in the vet’s van, I crawled in to hug him. I could not let go.

A few months ago, I had the pleasure of talking extensively with a young Italian opera star, introduced to me by a dear friend — a former MSCO team member — who now lives abroad.

So when do you strike at an enemy? One who wants to destroy you, your family, your business, your career, your country? After they attack you or just in time to stop them from doing so?

This week, the US foiled an Iranian plot to murder diplomats in the U.S. What will we do in response? Don’t say “sanctions”– there’s no such thing as sanctions. Saddam knew that as did Hitler before him.

Marketing is the process of isolating an idea, process, person or product–placing a halo around it–and directing attention away from everything else. What you are selling takes center stage, alone in a throne, aglow in its magnificence.

There is something we all lust for.

There is something we all lust for that we can’t have.

This sets up a collision course between our dreams and the inescapable reality that all of our dreams cannot be fulfilled.
