What the hell does that mean? I have no idea, but the words popped into my head and I had to go with it. You know, figure it out on the fly. Like in the course of writing this post.

I often say that it takes two people to create a bureaucracy. It’s not an exaggeration, I see it all the time. Let’s up the number to 20 or 200 people if you feel that’s more accurate. The rule remains the same: Unless you as a manager, a leader, are determined to root out the signs of bureaucracy and its agents, you will be in the grips of one.

It is a typical Coen Brothers’ tangled story of despair, masterfully executed and focused on a Big Bang epiphany that all of the most cherished truths, vaunted seers and wise men are about as smart and right with their theories of life — as a village idiot.

We grow up believing–because we are told it is so–that certainty is the cornerstone of learning.

A teacher presents us with a “fact,” we memorize it and are tested on our ability to recall what the professor at the lectern posited as the gospel. If we can absorb and regurgitate it, we are anointed as magna cum laude.
