I see IT in their eyes. It is a lack of pride in the companies they have been hired to run, or that they inherited. To them it is just a job, a means of earning a living or of fulfilling a responsibility.

Tenure is a euphemism. A wonderfully intellectual way of saying that you can stay on the job, protected by the rules, even if your performance is as captivating as frozen pizza.

In many ways, there is nothing more dangerous than “making progress.”

In many ways it is a failure that wears the camouflage of success. We become hypnotized, sometimes intoxicated, by the fact that we are moving forward but the goal is NOT to achieve momentum, it is to win.
